Kate Constantine (Konstantina) is a proud Gadigal woman of the Eora Nation and a leading neo-contemporary Indigenous artist whose practice is grounded in storytelling, reclamation, and cultural continuity.

Kate’s work reimagines the traditions of her peoples’ dot painting, presenting a modern narrative that deepens understanding of First Nations cultures as intrinsic to the fabric of Australia. Passionate about revitalising her language, culture and histories—much of which has been lost or manipulated since colonisation—her practice is deeply interconnected with her Mob and their oral histories. Grounded in rigorous academic research and cultural storytelling, her artworks are physical manifestations of these narratives: documents in time that reconnect people to Country.

Kate is represented by galleries in Paris, London, Sydney, Melbourne, Noosa and Margaret River, with her solo exhibitions consistently selling out for nearly a decade. Her work has been profiled internationally at major art fairs, featured on television, and commissioned by celebrities, leading restaurants and major corporations. She has been a finalist in more than twenty national art prizes and awards, including winning the prestigious Calleen Art Prize in 2025. Her expanding practice now also includes large-scale public artworks, transforming shopping centres, parklands and office buildings with her distinctive contemporary style.

Alongside her full-time artistic career, Kate brings over 15 years’ experience at C-suite level in Media and Advertising, specialising in Marketing and Business Strategy. She has held senior leadership roles at Foxtel, Macquarie Media Network and Nova Entertainment. She holds an MBA, a Commerce degree, and a Bachelor of Interior Architecture.

Kate has also served on numerous not-for-profit boards over the past decade, including The Royal Hospital for Women, i-Manifest, Yellamundie Aboriginal Corporation, Desert Pea Media, B.I.G.S., and the Aboriginal Art Association of Australia.

In 2024, Kate published Gadigal Ngura: Exploring a Gadigal Artist’s Love Affair with Her Country, a richly layered book combining art, storytelling and cultural reflection.

An in-demand keynote speaker, Kate delivers powerful, authentic talks on stages such as TEDx and for organisations including Salesforce, Baker McKenzie, NSW Ambulance, Estée Lauder and Southern Cross University. She inspires leadership teams and workforces while also sparking creativity and curiosity through immersive weaving and ochre workshops.
